Ferrovial Construction

Thank you to Ferrovial Construction UK & Ireland based in Chiswick, London for their donation. If it weren’t for businesses like Ferrovial Construction, we would struggle to fund our services for families and children devastated by childhood cancer.

The first of it's kind

The relationship between Ferrovial Construction UK & Ireland and Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund began almost by chance.

Lennox was initially chosen following an online search to be the beneficiary of Ferrovial’s Christmas raffle. The £6,000 raised through employee contributions and match funding from the business prompted members of the Lennox team to visit Ferrovial to say thank you and share an impact report showing exactly what their support could make possible for children with cancer and their families.

That first meeting became the start of something much bigger.

Ferrovial Construction UK & Ireland went on to choose Lennox as its first-ever charity partner, beginning a two-year partnership that would see teams across the UK and Ireland get behind the charity and raise an incredible £110,001.56.

A bespoke calendar of fundraising brought colleagues together across projects and offices, from socks and beanie days, mindful colouring competitions and sports days to football tournaments and major fundraising challenges. Thirteen team members also took on Lennox’s Hike, Bike & Paddle Challenge during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

What began with a Christmas raffle and a £6,000 donation grew into a partnership that exceeded anything either organisation could have anticipated.

Opening Doors Beyond the Partnership

One of the most valuable aspects of the partnership was the platform Ferrovial gave Lennox to reach new audiences. Lindsey was invited to visit project sites across the business, speaking directly to teams about the realities of childhood cancer and the difference their support was making to families. She was also invited to speak at company updates and at Ferrovial’s prestigious Supply Chain Event at the Barbican, introducing Lennox and our work to a much wider network of businesses and industry contacts.

Those opportunities opened doors that extended far beyond the partnership itself, creating new introductions, relationships and opportunities that continue to benefit Lennox today.

A great example of this is the annual golf day organised by Ferrovial’s Heathrow team through their volunteer days. What began during the partnership continues today, raising vital funds while introducing Lennox to new businesses and supporters long after the official partnership came to an end.

Perhaps one of the best examples of the lasting impact of the partnership is Bill Nash, Ferrovial’s former Supply Chain Manager. Since retiring, Bill has become a Lennox Ambassador and a regular volunteer, continuing to give his time and support to the charity. Having someone who first came to know Lennox through a corporate partnership remain so involved years later is something we are incredibly proud of. You can read more about Bill Nash and his work with Lennox by clicking here.

We remain hugely grateful to everyone at Ferrovial, not only for the incredible amount they raised, but for the platform they gave us, the doors they opened and the relationships they helped us build. The fact that so many of those connections remain part of Lennox today is a lasting testament to what this partnership achieved.
