Brightlingsea Primary School

What started as a simple school fundraiser went on to make a real difference to families facing the added financial pressures that can come with a child’s cancer diagnosis.

Helping Families Through Difficult Times

The £470 raised by Brightlingsea Primary School and Nursery through their non-uniform day has helped provide valuable financial support to families affected by childhood cancer.

The funds raised allowed us to provide two financial grants to families affected by childhood cancer. These grants helped ease some of the financial pressure families were facing, allowing them to continue covering essential household bills while their focus was on caring for their child.

For families going through treatment, everyday costs can quickly become harder to manage, particularly when parents need to reduce their working hours or take time away from work. Financial support at the right time can help take away some of that worry and give families one less thing to think about.

The generosity of the Brightlingsea Primary School and Nursery community has therefore helped provide practical support where it was needed most, showing how even a small school fundraising activity can have a meaningful impact on families facing childhood cancer.
