Respite Breaks
Our holiday homes available all year round for children with cancer and their families to relax, recharge and reconnect together
We understand that a short break away is often key for the survival of family relationships during the roller-coaster ride of childhood cancer, which is why we can provide free Respite Breaks and spending money to your family.
Time away from hospitals, doctors and treatments can be exactly what is needed to recharge and make some wonderful new memories together.
Lennox helped reunite us with our fun, frivolous sides, sides that had been battered and beaten up over the many treatment cycles. It was nice feeling like us again.
How could a break benefit your family?
-
Make dreams a reality
A weakened immune system is a common side effect of cancer treatment. As a result, many families consider holidays an impossible dream. We understand the importance of having a clean place to stay and flexibility in your booking. -
Create new family memories
During the emotional rollercoaster of childhood cancer, time away could be crucial for your family's wellbeing and relationships. Spending time together, away from the hospital and everyday grind is vital for creating precious memories together. -
Stress-free stays
Our Respite Breaks are completely free to support you through your challenging time. We have kitted out each holiday home with everything you might need, from bed linen to toys and games, so all you need to do is pack and get there!

Eligibility
Your child must have been diagnosed, or received active treatment for cancer, in the last 12 months.
By submitting an application, you are confirming that a respite break is suitable for your whole family at this time. Your family must be able to cope with the change in routine and environment. A respite break should not put your family under additional financial pressure. Whilst we can make a contribution towards expenses, you may spend more on a break than you would do at home.
If a guest has a physical disability, Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund should be contacted before an application is made as not all of our homes are fully accessible.
Every application will be given careful consideration and you should receive a response within 2 weeks of your request being received.
Respite Breaks requests can be made at any time but no more than 6 months in advance.
Jacob’s Story
After many visits to his GP and a trip to A&E, Jacob was diagnosed with Leukaemia. His Mother had to face the emotional trauma of helping her youngest son through the greatest battle of his life, while knowing that her eldest son was missing out on precious time with her and his baby brother.
