Now in its fourth successful year, this annual event, hosted by the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund, returned to Marsh Farm Animal Adventure Park. The park was exclusively closed to the public for the afternoon, creating a safe, welcoming, and private haven for families navigating the daily challenges of childhood cancer. Every family, whether currently in treatment, celebrating remission, or honouring the memory of a child, was welcomed with open arms for a day brimming with laughter and unforgettable experiences.
Designed to cultivate moments of happiness, freedom, and community, the day was packed with activities for all ages. Guests enjoyed superhero meet-and-greets, carnival queens, funfair games, animal feeding and petting encounters, refreshing ice creams and slushies, hair braiding, glitter face painting, swimming, sandcastle building, dinosaur hunting, arts and crafts, and captivating magic from the amazing James Sinclair of Partyman’s Magic Makers. From braving “The Beast” to waving bubble wands in the sunshine, there was something for everyone.
The seamless and joyful execution of the event was made possible by the dedicated staff from both Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund and Marsh Farm, alongside incredible volunteers from Rapley’s, Thundersley Superhero Alliance, and Maldon Carnival Court and Pageant Girls Amber, Ava, and Daniella. Each person gave their time, energy, and big hearts to ensure the day was a resounding success.
This wasn’t just a party, it was a celebration of strength, courage, and community. Seeing families laughing together, making new friends and memories, and forgetting their challenges, even for just a moment, is exactly why we do this.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Lasting Life, the Simon MacCorkindale Legacy, the entire event was completely free to attend. Each child received a special t-shirt, a beautiful goody bag filled with treats, and a magical bubble wand.
Susan George from Lasting Life the Simon MacCorkindale Legacy said “We were truly delighted to lend our support to Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund’s Party for Heroes, dedicated to making cherished memories for children living with the cruel disease of cancer and their families. The event was a celebration of courage, resilience, and community spirit.
“To play a part in creating such a day of happiness and respite for these incredibly brave children, is for us at Lasting Life the Simon MacCorkindale Legacy, both a privilege and an honour. Our mission is to give back, especially when it comes to supporting those facing the toughest of challenges.
“We send a huge thank you to the team at Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund for the incredible work they do, and for organising such a special occasion.”
