Despite the February chill, the rain held off and we were met with big smiles and an incredible sense of community as supporters came together to walk in support of children and families facing cancer.
The atmosphere was full of positivity, connection and purpose – exactly what Beat the Blues was all about.
Although fundraising wasn’t required to take part, participants went above and beyond, raising an amazing £4,598. These funds will help us continue providing vital emotional support to families when they need it most.
We are so proud that our very first Beat the Blues Walk was such a success, and we’re excited to share that this is just the beginning. We’re already planning to make it an annual event – so watch this space for 2027!
A special shout out to Jo & her daughter at Meades Dessert Bar, who kept our walkers warm & energised with coffees & hot chocolates, and celebrating the finish with their specialty crumbles… It went down a treat, and we couldn’t be more thankful for their support! If you live around the Dengie area, keep an eye out for their Dessert Clubs every Sunday!
