In October our youngest son was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. Our world was turned upside down, how could our crazy, super active happy go lucky socialite of an 11year old have been diagnosed with cancer?! Our lives quickly turned into a new routine of scans, tests and appointments rather than sleepovers (well hospital ones don’t count), football, and play dates.
One of the other mums on the ward put us in touch with Lennox who have been utterly amazing with the support they have given. From phone calls of advice and support to monetary grants and practical advice which have all been invaluable to us at such a stressful time.
We were so greatful to receive a £250 grant from Lennox which we used to purchase a new bed for Oscar as once his treatment started it quickly became apparent his cabin bed was far from suitable and actually quite dangerous for him to be in following those first days after chemo and as some of the side effects started to appear after subsequent rounds.
His new bed is just amazing, there is plenty of space for him to snuggle up and room for his friends to sit when they visit and play Xbox.
This grant has helped so much as has the never ending support Lennox provide to us we are all so great full as a family from Oscar’s mum x
