What is SOS?
SOS stands for ‘Share Our Strength’. It’s our monthly community group where families affected by childhood cancer can come together with others who understand what they’re going through, and feel part of a supportive community.
Each month, we get together for a range of fun and relaxed activities, giving families the chance to make new friends, share experiences, enjoy some time together and access support when they need it.
Our SOS community groups are great for:
- Spending time together
- Making friends with people who 'just get it'
- Getting emotional support
- Taking part in fun activities
- Finding out what support Lennox can provide for your family
What happens at an SOS group?
Each SOS session usually lasts around two hours and includes a range of fun and relaxed activities for children and families to enjoy.
There’s plenty of time to chat, make friends and meet other families who understand what you’re going through. Every session is a little different, so there’s always something new to enjoy.
If it’s your first time at SOS, a member of the Lennox team will be there to welcome you. Just come and say hello and we’ll show you around, introduce you to the group and help you and your family settle in.
You don’t have to stay for the whole session – you’re welcome to come along for as much or as little of the session as you like. Whether you want to get involved in the activities, have a cuppa and a chat, or simply spend time with other families, SOS is a place where you can feel comfortable, supported and part of the community.
